Don't Mess with North Carolina's Air Quality!

Lawmakers have put forth a provision in Senate Bill 734 that would remove about half of North Carolina’s air quality monitors, a move that will save very little money but greatly reduce our knowledge about our air quality.

Ambient air monitors are important tools for monitoring air pollution and reporting the level of pollutants present in our communities. Removing half of the states air monitors will only decrease the amount of information the state and public will have available to protect ourselves from unhealthy levels of air pollution.

Why do lawmakers think that knowing less about the condition of our air quality would do us any good? Tell your state leaders the last thing North Carolina needs is a dirty air problem!
To whom it may concern:

I am very disappointed to learn about a provision that would remove all air quality monitors that are not required under federal law. Removing these monitors only limits the amount of information the state will have available to protect North Carolinians from unhealthy levels of air pollution. This is unacceptable.

Please support clean air in North Carolina by opposing these bad provisions.
