SAVE MILL MEADOW PARK FOR OUR COMMUNITY --PREVENT IT FROM BEING THEY "PAVED PARADISE & PUT UP A PARKING LOT"

The City Council has voted unanimously to auction off not only the Alkire Mansion but also Mill Meadow Park including the hiking trail & gazebo area. Please show your support in saving Keyser's only peaceful, tranquil, natural park. The city claims the upkeep is too expensive but it takes as much if not less upkeep than the other parks and playgrounds in town. The community uses this area for birthday parties, baby showers, sled riding, dog walking, picture taking, a serene place to eat your lunch, chat with a friend or collect your thoughts. Selling the Alkire Mansion has been an ongoing discussion and at least an agreement has been made to stipulate the mansion can not be torn down. Why is it necessary to take the park from the residents of this community as well? There are two bridges, one with access to the mansion, one access to the park. Why is it necessary to take the park and the mansion? Please save the park side for our nature loving community.
