No-Kill + relocate = everyone wins.

Target Audience - Canmore, Calgary area & Alberta & Canada
A No-kill solution will save bunnies and inter-personal relations in Canmore. Nobody will have a reason to be sad or grumpy with a NoKill solution. Best of all, everybunny wins !
Kelowna had 800 bunnies in a small area - it took 4 years to catch them all, and they still live happily now in their humane no-kill shelter. So it will cost a lot more than $50K & 1 year for contract killers, probably well over $200K+ and several years.  Why pay a contractor $150-$200 just to pick up bunnies and gas them (death by suffocation-horribly painful).
That money should instead go to spay/neuter and relocate the bunnies to Crown land outside Canmore where they can self-feed and have bunny huts built for protection against predators. Everyone wins.
Canmore and Alberta residents: please write a note whether you think Town of Canmore gave enough time and a fair chance to any Save the Bunny solutions.  Please comment on long-term costs of killing vs sterilize & relocate. Comment on community internal relations. Should Alberta Govt pay some costs as more money available = more to save the bunnies.
We, the undersigned, ask the Honorable Justice of the Queens Bench Court of Calgary, to consider our views for action 1101-14786 to be heard 14 Nov 2011 in Calgary.  We are residents of Canmore, Calgary and surrounding area, and in the province of Alberta, or otherwise have interests in the well-being of the animals and the residents of Canmore.
A No-kill solution will save bunnies and inter-personal relations in Canmore. Everyone can work towards a positive common goal where everyone wins and has a brighter future.  We need to send the right message to the youths and children who are a witness to this - the message that killing should not be a quick fix for any problem. We need a peaceful solution that meets the moral high bar already set by other NoKill communities such as Calgary, Kelowna, Victoria (University).
The Town of Canmore has long neglected the issue as has the Province of Alberta - and so in creating the problem, both should be responsible for the peaceful and humane treatment of the rabbits.  By sharing costs, and with Crown land more options are available to solve this issue.

Long-term total costs of the ProKill project need to fully revealed to taxpayers, with expected time expectations and costs clearly defined.NoKill advocates must be given a fair chance to provide solutions on equal cost allowances given to ProKill solutions.  All information should be made public.
NoKill advocates should be given more time to provide NoKill proposals which required more time to signup regional veterinary assistance.  A clear, fairly worded RFP should be re-enabled to ensure the RFP process is fairly worded and fairly reviewed with public input.
The loss of a major food source for predators so near to Banff National Park may require additional scientific studies to assess and document the impact of any solution.
We ask that you grant us allowances of time to fairly present NoKill Proposals to Canmore, and to possibly also set conditions that will ensure that we have our NoKill proposal(s) fairly reviewed, in this mission of mercy.
