hiring felons

I would like to know why felons can't work at most ohio companies I'm a felon and I want to work but here in ohio most companies wont hire felons but the three jobs I lost all said the same thing,they would rather have a felon work for them than someone else.So please help us out some of us want to change but can't because of that one mistake,and I know that there are other nonfelons that are out of work but atleast they dont have to worry about not get a job.
