LIMIT CORPORATE MONEY IN ELECTIONS

  • by: Greg Amour

Overturning 100 years of legal limitation on corporate corruption and influence in politics, the Supreme Court, in a narrow 5-4 majority decided in favor of allowing corporations unlimited financial support for particular candidates and measures in elections. Because corporations have billions of dollars in resources they can block the will of the electorate, by spending on advertising, propaganda and lobbying (legal bribery) of our electted officials. Thus our candidates will be beholden to their wants and needs, instead of looking to the people who elected them. Ask Congress and the President to
block the ruling through law and amendment to the Constitution(while we still have one) if necessary.
Congressional Leaders

We the undersigned are concerned about the recent Supreme Court Decision allowing corporations to spend without limit on political campaigns. We strongly urge you to take immediate action to limit the scope of this decision and to exert your power as a separate but equal branch of government. WE THE PEOPLE do not want corporations to have such unlimited power over our civil discourse or the power to corrupt our delicate political democracy. By law, or by amendment, we demand a bipartisan effort to balance the power of corporations and limit their financial influence over our system and elected and appointed representatives.
