Recently the new management company, Butler Management, and the HOA board made the joint decision to increase the monthly HOA fee by a drastic amount, effective January 1, 2017. After reviewing the letter provided with explanation for the fee increase, there appears to be no beneficial reason to the unit owners for this increase. The board is looking to cover costs for previous debts, along with costs for updating all the heating/boiler units in each building, which should have been covered in the HOA reserves, which unit owners already contribute a portion of their monthly fee.
We strongly disagree with this large increase in the monthly HOA fee. They are overcharging for the HOA fee. The increase provides no benefit to the owners or tenants, and will severely decrease the value of the units in the future. The current management company already failed to provide availability of the pool this past summer. They also failed to provide heat and hot water to one building for over one week this winter. These are just a couple of recent instances where Butler Management failed to meet service standards.
If you feel the same way, we must act quickly to appeal this increase before the end of the year. Please click the link below to sign the official petition that will be formally submitted to Butler Property Management and the HOA board by December 30, 2016.
