Ensure safe drinking water on First Nations now!

The ongoing lack of access to safe drinking water on 28 First Nations reserves violates our treaties, undermines the human right to water, and has created a public health crisis.

In 2015, the federal government promised to put an end to all long-term drinking water advisories on First Nations reserves by March 2021. In March 2021, there were still 39 reserves with DWAs. Now, a full three years later, 28 reserves still have long term drinking water advisories, and even more have short-term disruptions to their drinking water.

The Prime Minister has lost any sense of urgency on this file.
