Save Seattle Showbox!

Death Cab for Cutie, Wilco, Josh Ritter and Modest Mouse, just a few of the epic shows that I have had the pleasure and privilege of seeing at Seattle's Showbox.

And today, devastating news that the famed venue is set to be demolished and replaced by a 44 story tower with 400+ luxury condos.

Please sign my petition telling the City of Seattle to say no to new condos and stand up for the historic places that have made Seattle the City it is!

Seattle's Showbox was founded in 1939 and has hosted artists and fans alike from the jazz era through grunge to the artists of today. The Showbox is not just a part of what makes Seattle special but it is a piece of rock history. Don't allow the greed of developers capitalizing on a quickly changing City to take this away.

But, there is still hope. The announcement today says that the builder only just filed their plans. Sign my petition to tell Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections to reject their plan and protect the Showbox!

Update #15 years ago
Great news, the Seattle City Council voted unanimously to expand the Pike Place Market Historical District to include the Showbox, which means the Showbox is safe...for now. Under the measure, the historical district will cover the site for 10 months while the City decides what to do. So, we need to keep the pressure on! Please continue to share the petition as this fight is far from over! Read more here -- https://bit.ly/2MOWPIU
