STOP DEMONITIZING SHANE DAWSON AND OTHER ORIGINAL YOUTUBE CREATORS!!!!!

The intended purpose of this petition is to show Youtube the masses who find its new demonitization standards completely unethical and devoid of any original rule, logic, or substance. We present to you the signatures of viewers, creators, and, most importantly, individuals who hold the right to form their own thoughts and speak freely on this platform without consequence, as long as the guidelines originally set in place are followed.
Now, once Youtube completely ignores this, I present the most important reason for this petition. To all of the YouTube creators we have spent so many years relying on for entertainment, please don't worry, we aren't going anywhere. If you and your fans feel extremely passionate about a certain type of video that continues to be demonetized, please don't throw your ideas away and conform to the cookie cutter YouTube requires now. If you leave, we will follow. You will never be broke. This is a two way street. As long as you make us happy, we make you happy. 

It's no news to anyone that some of YouTube's biggest creators have recently become the undeserving victims of YouTube's new money-driven, discriminatory, ostracizing technique, which basically targets a YouTube creator the website deems to be too controversial, too graphic, too adult or, basically, TOO REAL, and demonitizes their videos with no logical explanation as to why.

The top channels on YouTube make a living off of this platform. Do they love what they do? Absolutely. Do they still rely on the ad revenue placed on their monetized videos to financially support themselves? Absolutely.

Recently, a lot of us were made aware that Shane Dawson's treasured and highly anticipated Conspiracy Theories videos (which have now turned into incredibly raw, captivating educational videos) are slowly being demonetized one by one. If YouTube continues to unfairly remove ad revenue from these videos, it will only be a matter of time before we all hear the last "Hey what's up, you guys? Yes, today it is time for another creepy video" in that mysterious, enticing voice. This, unfortunately, does not only apply to Shane Dawson, but to Jenna Marbles, PewDiePie, Keemstar, Tana Mongeau, Phillip DeFranco, h3h3productions, Scarce, Idubbbz, Kwebbelkop, Onision, David Firth, and many more.

We wait for Shane's creepy yet informative videos every week. And, I don't ever want to imagine a world without learning about the Illuminati, unsolved murders, or Lil Miquela.

To the #1 video sharing, top search engine platform that has revolutionized the entertainment world, we all know you are making the way for family comedies, drama series, reality TV shows, and news programs that are soon to transfer over to you from television. And we are fully aware of the desire to be able to completely control every little thing the world watches by placing ads on whatever video you want the human eye to see. But, allow me to inform you of a few things. Statistics show that in the past 5 years, the amount of traditional TV watched has steadily declined due to increased consumption of digital video. In 12 to 17 year olds, TV viewing has dropped 38% in the past 5 years, 25 to 34 year olds: 28% drop, 35 to 49 year olds: 12% drop, and 50 to 64 year olds: 0.5% drop (Traditional TV, Marketing Charts, January 2017).

What is the number 1 reason for the drastic drops in TV and the steady increase in video streaming, specifically YouTube? Raw, original programming is the crucial factor in people's device of choice. By continuing to demonitize and ultimately rid YouTube of its most popular, profitable, ORIGINAL creators, you are making the people's choice for digital streaming device a lot easier.

Hint: It isn't going to be YouTube.

Please sign this petition if you believe Youtube should stop demonetizing videos in which differing opinions are presented, the topic is controversial, world history is discussed (no matter how shocking it may be, YOU CANNOT CENSOR HISTORY), dramatic retellings of personal stories that increase awareness and safety of viewers, recaps of current news stories, proposed theories or ideas, and anything that was not already listed in your guidelines before the outrageous changes were made. All in all, the least you could do, Youtube, is allow the creators who put in their hard earned money and spent days and days creating a video they are extremely proud of...enough respect to allow them to appeal your demonetization claim. I mean, serial killers are allowed an appeal in the Criminal Justice system, but creators aren't in the Entertainment industry? 

Or..you know, you could just inform all creators of what's going on. You would be shocked at how all of your members would gladly help change things so that everyone could make money again.

Finally, please sign if you plan to continue supporting your creator of choice no matter where they go or what happens to them. All we ask is that you never deviate from your true, authentic self and continue to give us the content that made us fall in love with you. If you do that, you will always have our love and support.
