Demand the College Board fire the Republican activist trying to ban Black history!

One of the top executives at the College Board, the private for-profit company that writes the SAT and AP exams, is on a crusade to  "limit what teachers can say regarding race, history, and politics in Indiana classrooms."

Todd Huston earns $460,00 as a senior vice-president at the College Board — but he's also the state Speaker for the House in Indiana, where he is using his position to push a bill that would remove "divisive topics" from state classroom curriculums.

What those topics might be are undefined, but judging by the emphasis on banning history that would make "any individual… feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, responsibility, or any other form of psychological distress on account of the individual's sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color, national origin, or political affiliation," it's not hard to guess which parts of American history he's talking about.

Tell the College Board to get rid of their anti-history vice-president!

Right-wingers across the country are working overtime to rewrite history along white supremacist lines, whitewashing and downplaying the long list of unspeakable atrocities and centuries of racist oppression so that they can justify the injustices and disparities that afflict American society today.

Anyone who would willingly rewrite history to suit their personal ideology should be nowhere near any kind of academic institution — or the levers of power, for that matter.
