Demand UN Intervention in Sudan Immediately

There is a MAJOR humanitarian crisis present in Sudan.

Following a coup in April, the Sudanese president had stepped down to be replaced by military leaders advocating for civilian rule. This, however, was not the case; these military leaders took control of this vulnerable, transitional government for personal power purposes.

The entire situation escalated when paramilitary forces raided a governmental protest in hopes of relaying their own power. With a reserved calculation of 52 casualties and 784 people injured, these military forces continued their violent and unrestrained strategies for dominance.

With Sudan being a rapid technologically developing country, mobile usage is perhaps the primary vessel of access to the outside world. Knowing this, the military created an entire internet blackout, resulting in the inability for any communication from first-hand accounts. Further heinous acts of rape and pillaging have occurred, with houses being burned down and entire livelihoods being destroyed.

In addition, the Janjaweed, a militia in Sudan, have utilized the criminal act of ethnic cleansing to accomplish their convoluted goals. On June 3rd, Sudanese security forces spearheaded by the Janjaweed attacked a populated and diverse protester outpost.

These protesters are asking for a civilian ruled governmental system, with a long transitional period in order for the past to settle and the rise of a new, improved nation to commence. They're looking for public elections to be the next step in Sudan's timeline, and all global citizens should support them in their endeavors.
