We need the laws to change to allow medical marijuana to be transported from one legal state to another in times when the state dispensaries (or patients) are dry and they have to go to another state to get it. For example, WA, OR & CA are all legal states yet when one state is dry and we have to go get from another state, why should someone get arrested for doing so? Not everyone can grow quick enough to supply their needs or their dispensary's needs like in the case of Scott Shupe of Spokane, WA's The "Change" Shop. This was the first dispensary in Spokane, WA and before there were many growers, hence why Shupe had to get from other growers in Oregon. That was prior to all the dispensaries popping up as well as growers.
What about those that have their medical marijuana prescription? We can take opiods and what not to other states if we have a prescription but not medical marijuana? Something HAS to change here people! Not all are bed ridden and may like to travel for a wedding, vacation, new grand baby or what have you but can only take their pharmacy prescriptions and not their MM prescription, that makes no sense what so ever!! ALL pharmacy medications ruin your health but you can take them across state line yet not an herb that is natural...makes no sense to me when people are selling their prescriptions AND they are very addictive and kill your liver. People shoot up their medication even, never heard of anyone shooting up medical marijuana nor over dosing and dying on it.
Lt. Curt Strickland, interagency narcotics team commander for Douglas County, says it is not unusual for one of his officers to stop a vehicle, find as much as six pounds of marijuana inside, and do nothing about it.
YET, Shupe for the first time ever (because no one else had any to sell) just went to Oregon to buy for his dispensary and it's patients...it's a shame because he was and will always be one of the very few that really desires to help people and not just make himself rich off patients!
We NEED to legalize the transportation of medical marijuana between WA, OR, CA for patients and for dispensaries...pharmacies can do it, why can't dispensaries?
