A Pregnant Dog Was Found With a Metal Wire Tight Around Her Neck

A pregnant dog is fighting for her life after animal officials found a metal wire tightly wrapped around her throat. It was so tight that the poor dog's head swelled and she struggled to breathe. The wire wasn't accidental. A veterinarian believes it was intentionally placed there, causing horrific injuries and putting both the mother and her unborn puppy in grave danger.

The dog was found along a roadside in New Kent County, weak and suffering, with what officials described as a "disgusting amount of damage" to her neck. She was rushed to emergency veterinary care and remains hospitalized as veterinarians perform a cesarean section in a desperate attempt to save her puppy. At the time of reporting, the outcome is still unknown.

This is being investigated as a case of animal cruelty, but officials have also acknowledged a painful truth: previous abused animals in the area were never given justice. The person responsible was never identified, and no one was held accountable.

That cannot happen again. Whoever was capable of intentionally strangling a pregnant dog with wire is a serious danger to animals, and potentially to people later.

Sign the petition to urge New Kent County authorities to put full resources into identifying who did this, reviewing past cruelty cases for possible connections, and ensuring the perpetrator is held fully accountable under the law!
