In light of the recent "incident" in Newton, Connecticut and the various other similar "incidents" throughout the United States. I say it is time for people to reconsider what the right to bear arms actually means.
I grew up around guns and understand what an important part of American culture this right is; however, the guns I grew up learning about, practicing with and hunting with had absolutely no resembalance to the weapons that we are seeing used in the many senseless killings throughout our eduactional institutions and places of commerce.
I believe it is time to seriously consider restricting exactly what type of weapon the average citizen needs to have for hunting purposes or their own protection. An assault rifle is not a weapon we need for either of these occassions. Therefore, I am presenting a petition to rid the streets of America of these weapons. I hope you will join me in my cause by signing my petition.
