Legalize Longboarding in Wisconsin!

According to Wisconsin State Law Longboards are not differentiated from skateboards and fall into the category of play vehicles. Play vehicles are not allowed on any roadways in the entire state except for crossing crosswalks. By not differentiating between longboards and skateboards, longboarders lose the freedom to travel in a safe and eco-friendly manner home from school, across town, or even to work. Longboarding does not damage property, can be done safely and efficiently while obeying biking laws, and is completely green. Longboarders should be allowed to follow the same laws as bikers and have the freedom to move from place to place without being hassled.

We the undersigned ask that any fellow Wisconsin longboarders who believe in a free street to ride on for transport and enjoyment to please sign this petition. Together we can bring this issue to the light that longboards are not property damaging skateboards and can be operated safely and efficiently on the roadway while having a positive impact on the environment.
We are fighting to achieve road use similar to that of bikers. Currently the law does not allow longboarders any use of the road.
