Save The Forests, Repopulate and Cut-Down on Deforestation

There are forests all over the world that suffer everyday from commercial farming, damming, fishing, hunting, man-made forest fires, etc. These Forests flourished for millions of years before humans had even evolved and now they are disappearing so quickly that our grandchildren may never see them. There are hundreds of rare species of mammals, fish, retiles, insects, beautiful and amazing plants, that are destroyed by deforestation, forced into extinction everyday! Not only our we costing animals homes, but we are risking our own air. Plants and animals/people need to coexsist. We feed each other the elements necessary to breath and we destroy our cohabitant as if it's insignificant to us. We need to repopulate Forests all over the world, and we need to cut down on deforestation. There is always a better method compared to the one you're using, especially if the method you take is destroying so much around you.

The worlds forests are being rapidly destroyed. Some people would say otherwise but if you think of how long it took the forests to grow, the rate we cut them down at or build dams causing flooding in areas that were dry and drying in areas that were wet, they'll be gone before we know it. Humans and plants need to coexist to survive. They provide the oxygen we need to breathe, and we in turn create the carbon dioxide that they take in and create food with. Trees and plants also store pollutants as well, cleaning our air for us. Not only does deforestation cause global warming, but it is also the main reason animals have been going extinct as well. There are hundreds of rare animals that can only be found on specific islands or areas in the world and we are taking their habitat. They can't live the way they should be. The smaller animals and predators are pushed closer and closer together so they kill each other faster, some migrate causing the predators to starve, and some die because they have no habitat. It's unfair to the planet and its creatures. The forests of earth have been here for millions of years growing and evolving into the organisms they are today. We shouldn't be destroying them; we should be helping the planet live to its potential.

There are 10 forests as of today that are considered endangered including the New Caledonia Rainforests. These forests are located on the windward eastern side of Grand Terre, New Caledonia's mountainous main island. This forest is home to 3270 plant species and about 75% of them are endemic, meaning they only grow in that location. About 90% of the islands reptilian species are endemic, along with about 70% of the islands mammals. These are all amazing things to be able to study or see, and we treat them like they are nothing. These endangered species will never come back once they are extinct and that is extremely upsetting. It brings tears to my eyes to think about animals that I will never see because humans are so selfish. All we have to do is replant what we take, but were not and I don't understand why. The New Caledonia Rainforests have been destroyed from their original habitat down to only 5%. It is the Second most endangered forest in the world.

Indo-Burma is a Tropical rainforest; it is the #1 most endangered forest on earth. Indo-Burma is home to some of the largest fresh water fish on earth including the Mekong giant catfish. The rivers have been destroyed by dam building and destructive fishing techniques. Over fishing and destructive fishing techniques have also had a major effect on the fresh water ecosystems. Like the New Caledonia forests most of its original habitat has been destroyed, and only 5% remains.

The California Floristic Province is located in the United States on the West coast. It is the seventh forest in the world that is endangered. The California Floristic Province has endemic species as well including the famous Giant Sequoia; the largest living organism on the planet, and the Coastal Redwood. Several large species of mammals in the area have gone extinct due to deforestation including the Grizzly bear. Commercial farming is a major threat to this forest, 90% of the original habitat has been eliminated. The remaining 10% of forest is heavily threatened by expansion of urban areas, pollution and roads. California is one of the four most ecologically degrading states in the US.

The earth has survived as long as it has because it has been flourishing for hundreds and thousands of years since the last ice age. If our planet is the only planet we know of that can support life then why do we harm it so much? We need to be helping the planet live to its potential. Not only to we deforest but we also cause a lot of pollution and plants play a huge part in keeping our air pollutant free. If we were to begin tree re-population our air quality would increase eliminating some of the death that smog causes, and making the air healthier for our children to breathe and for the people who already have respiratory problems. Humans would be over all healthier, and the sick will be able to live longer healthier lives as they should. There are trees that have been on our planet for thousands of years. The oldest tree in the world is 10,000 years old. Now take a second to imagine what that tree has seen over the years. I can only begin to imagine how amazing that one tree's life has been. To be able to evolve over time and grow through natural disasters and natural events that we can only imagine is amazing. These trees should be cloned, and reproduced rapidly and replanted not cut down. That one tree should be protected forever until its life naturally ends. All trees should but we do need them for building, and making products to be sold in stores. But the problem is, is that were not putting them back just taking, and that's what is killing our planet. I believe that it is a privilege to see our forests and our animals because they are all so beautiful and unique in their own way and I don't want them to disappear forever. It's amazing that there are trees 300 ft tall or wider than a building; we need to save the forests we have so our future generations can enjoy them like I get to today. We need to save our forests before it's too late because with out them we have no future at all.
