Trump Tried to Bully MapQuest. They Told Him to Pound Sand—and Hit #1!

Please take a minute to thank MapQuest for not cowering to Trump (cough, cough, Google, cough, cough) -- and consider downloading the MapQuest app you only realized was still around five minutes ago.

It's true: We also thought MapQuest died in 1998. But they're here, they're dear (to all who love freedom), and they're #1 because they fought back:

"The most popular iPhone app in the US is one that few people have thought about since dial-up internet: MapQuest. The mapping service is making a comeback on US App Stores after refusing to change Lake Ontario's name, following President Donald Trump's executive order rebranding it as Lake America." (CNN)

Trump tried to bully MapQuest. The company basically told him to pound sand—and then proceeded to mock him all across the Internet.

Oh, and they got so much love in return that MapQuest is now the #1 app in Apple's App Store. Seriously!

Please join us in thanking MapQuest for having the courage to fight back—and the creativity to do it in such a wonderful way.

Add your name: "Thank you for fighting back, MapQuest!"
