104-110 Empire Blvd Tenant Association demands that their landlord Isaac Pollack hire a Super !
We the community support the tenants of 104/110 Empire Boulevard and their demand that their landlord Isaac Pollack, hire a superintendent for their buildings. Isaac Pollack has illegally deprived them of their right to a superintendent for several years. In fact by NYS law, based on the number of apartments within their buildings, it is required that a qualified full-time superintendent either live on the premises or in close proximity in order to provide proper maintenance and sanitation for the buildings.
Isaac Pollack’s refusal to hire a super has meant no access to emergency services during evening and weekends, in case of leaks, heat, hot water issues, or boiler room fires. Particularly the winter months have been historically difficult at 104-110 Empire because of the lack of heat and hot water throughout the buildings.
Only a proper, full time superintendent can also ensure that proper garbage collection, garbage storage, and garbage disposal are available. The tenants agree that garbage disposal service of their the building is poor, with garbage often piling up in front of the building. Garbage cans are often missing lids and bags, creating unsanitary conditions, and creating an environment that breed pests.
We the community support the rent stabilized tenants of 104-110 Empire Boulevard and their demand that Isaac Pollack, obey and comply with NYS law immediately hire a qualified super by July 1st.
