Petition to Suspend the Aerial Culling of Wild Brumbies

We, the undersigned, respectfully call upon the Australian Government and New South Wales authorities to immediately suspend the aerial culling of wild brumbies and commit to reviewing humane alternatives for population management.

Wild brumbies have long been part of Australia's cultural heritage and hold significance for many Australians and supporters around the world. While we recognize the importance of protecting native ecosystems and managing animal populations responsibly, we believe that aerial shooting raises serious animal welfare concerns and remains highly controversial among members of the public.

We urge government leaders to pursue and invest in non-lethal management strategies wherever feasible, including fertility control programs, trapping and rehoming initiatives, and other humane population management methods. We also request greater transparency regarding population data, environmental impacts, and the decision-making processes used to justify current culling practices.

As concerned citizens and travelers, we believe tourism dollars should support destinations that demonstrate a commitment to humane animal welfare standards. Until meaningful steps are taken to halt aerial culling and evaluate non-lethal alternatives, we will reconsider travel plans and encourage others to do the same.

Immediately suspend aerial culling operations involving wild brumbies.
Conduct an independent review of current population management policies.
Expand investment in humane, non-lethal management alternatives.
