Turnstiles cause stupid bottlenecks at skytrain stations at important times of the day. They allow n'er-do-wells free, unchecked movement on the system.
There are more important matters on Skytrain that could be addressed. ie Noise of wheels on the tracks,
As it is, regular vigilance helps police apprehend miscreants out there riding the Skytrain without paying, people with outstanding warrants, wanted criminals. Skytrain police themselves report regularly capturing bad guys with the existing program--fare spotchecks!.
Somebody in a suit--who NEVER uses the service-- needing crazy ideas to justify his position at Transit has come up with this nonsensical, expensive, counterproductive scheme.

We the undersigned know that Turnstiles are counterproductive. They create bottlenecks at rush hours. The present system has transit police catching fugitives and other criminals every day. By their very nature these miscreants do not pay the fare and then get arrested and jailed when transit police do spotchecks. Skytrain has more important matters that need attention--like screeching wheels (tires) on the tracks.. Fire the executive who came up with this foolish, bureaucratic idea. Obviously, that person has never ridden the Skytrain. Have you ever been in a hurry for a bus or a train and then just as the thing is getting ready to leave without you, the turnstile &/or turnstile crowd slows you right down?
Transit Police bust fare cheaters who will get around your turnstiles with ease and still cheat the system, only with less danger to themselves. And what about folks carrying luggage who have to get past the turnstile? What about lame seniors or wheelchair people?
STOP THE TURNSTILES !
