Demand an End to the Unfair Cote St Luc Overnight Parking Regulations

Aren't you fed up by the councils unfair laws of overnight parking? Yes, I can feel your pain, as I am one of the many who is controlled and stripped away from the freedom of having guests sleeping over...

Of course, the city advises that you can register to the annual parking permit at a fee of 240$. Firstly, do they not take into consideration that not all of us have the means to pay that and secondly even if you would get over the fact that you would have to pay , not everyone is entitled to getting the permit...

Here is the eligibility criteria (found on the city's website),

"Eligibility

The permit is available only to residents of Côte Saint-Luc who have no other parking space available to them where they live.

Here are some common situations where a resident would be eligible to receive a permit:

You live in an apartment building and there are no more available parking spaces.
You live in a house and your family has four cars but only enough room to park three of them in your garage and driveway.
You rent a duplex and the owner won't rent his parking space to you.
Here are some common situations where a resident would not be eligible to receive a permit:

You live in an apartment building or duplex and there are available parking spaces but they are too expensive.
You live in an apartment building or duplex and there are parking spaces but they are being used by the owner to store something other than a non-commercial vehicle.
You live in a house have enough room to park the cars in the garage and driveway but you have to move the cars every morning so the cars in the garage can leave.
You live in a house and have three cars. You have room for two cars in your driveway. But because you use your garage parking spaces as storage you are short one parking space."

So responding to those restrictions mentioned above :
1) don't you believe that you should be free to decide if you want to use your garage space for storage or if you dont want to have to move the second car every morning to get the first one at of the garage?
2) What about guests ?
Oh yes, they'll say call the security public, they'll grant you free parking for the night... When they answer, that is !! But they never answer !!! Their system is so outdated that it doesn't notice the security public department when someone is on hold. So yes, you guessed it, Cote St Luc basically decides for you when you can have someone sleep over ( unless you want to pay the 40$ parking ticket). Isn't that a complete violation of freedom ? Shouldn't you be allowed to invite how many people as you want to your own property?

Therefore, this is a petition that objects to these awful, limiting freedom regulations in hopes that :
1) The overnight parking long term overnight eligibility will change and make it accessible to anyone living in CSL.
(and)
2) The city will finally use some of our taxes and create a online system where we enter information directly to get an overnight permission parking for our guests (without having to wait on the phone hours with no answer)
(or)
3) Abolish all of these regulation and make the city a free environment.
