Stop the Ban on Our Septic Systems

The "State" Water Quality Control Board has placed a Ban on septic systems in certain areas of Yucca Valley. The ban covers most of the town but leaves out areas on the outskirts. The data that was provided by the USGS is valid, but misinterpreted so that Hi-Desert Water District and a few select companies (and individuals) could reap the benefit of higher property values. USGS proved that there are nitrates in our groundwater and even cast doubt on HOW they were getting there, yet the State Water Quality Board (Colorado Basin) ignored that data. The USGS declared, and the peer reviewers mentioned, that the water samples were taken very close to the HDWD percolation ponds. This would indicate that the septic systems are NOT the problem! The peer reviews warned that a sewer system, like the one being forced on us, would create its own special problems. We are about to hand over our wallets to Hi-Desert Water District and allow them to take whatever they want, whenever they want.

Stop the ban on our septic tanks until further studies are made on the ACTUAL impact of our septic systems and the HDWD percolation ponds on our aquifer!
