Support the Establishment of the Spring Quiet Zone

Localities nationwide have the right to mitigate the effects of train horn noise by establishing "quiet zones.” In a quiet zone, railroads have been directed to cease the routine sounding of their horns when approaching public highway-rail grade crossings. Train horns may still be used in emergency situations or to comply with other Federal regulations or railroad operating rules but train horn noise is substantially reduced. Many communities in Houston have established Quiet Zones, including West U, and the Spring area is eligible. This petition will help the entire Spring area, including communities such as Northampton, Stratton Woods, Mossy Oaks, Creekside (The Woodlands), the Exxon Campus, Auburn Lakes, Creekside Place, Saddlebrook Ranch, Willow Forest, Londonderry, Wimbledon Falls, Augusta Pines and others enjoy the tranquility residents deserve with lower amounts of noise pollution. Join us in supporting this great cause to help continue to make Northern Harris County and Southern Montgomery County wonderful places to live and work.
