Demand that Ms.Kitara Myatt be printed in Beekmantown High School yearbook

I am deeply saddened with Beekmantown this week. I have been actively trying to convince the school to allow Ms. Kitara Myatt to be printed in the yearbook. Unfortunately, I have been told that even the printing of her name would be not allowed, as it is "promoting suicide."

However, I believe the silence that are trying so hard to keep cover, is the only thing promoting suicide in this school. Children who are depressed and suicidal already feel that if they killed themselves, no one would notice, and this is what the school is promoting.

A simple "In loving memory" is all I am asking for. Neither me nor her family can obtain that. I am still mourning the death of my best friend. Each day is a challenge and all I ask is for her name to be printed. How is this too much to ask for?

How can we not follow other school examples of a memorial to our fellow classmates' deaths, but not do it for a suicide? This is not only insulting but embarrassing.

Please allow Kitara Myatt to be in the yearbook with her senior class.

Update #36 years ago
After my meeting with this principal today, I have been informed that unfortunately we were not able to get Kitara in the yearbook. Thank you for all of your support regardless the outcome.

I want to thank each and every one of you who signed this petition and have supported me. I want to congratulate all of us for taking action to help Kitara. I have been meeting with the school administration, and they are willing to work with us to come up with a solution that will be beneficial for both students and faculty. Stay tuned for more updates.
As always,
Ivy
