Pledge to Stand with the Watershed's Farmers!

Roughly 90 percent of the remaining pollution reductions required to save the Bay must come from agriculture. But critical investments are needed. The 2023 Farm Bill provides a unique opportunity to secure the necessary funding to deliver conservation benefits on agricultural lands that support a healthy environment, economy, and way of life.

Stand with CBF in urging Congress to pass a Farm Bill with strong investments in agricultural conservation programs.

Farmers play a critical role in our communities, the social fabric of the region, and the health of our rivers, streams, and the Bay. Across the watershed, they have worked hard to improve their lands and surrounding waters by implementing agricultural conservation practices. Not only do these practices cost-effectively reduce pollution, they also reduce greenhouse gases and help our region become more resilient to the effects of climate change. Healthier soil, waterways, and farm economies are a legacy that will benefit generations to come.

But, demand from the agricultural community to implement conservation practices on their land far exceeds the available resources. The Farm Bill is only passed once every five years and is an important opportunity to ensure support. Increased federal investments in technical assistance and agricultural conservation practices are critical to reducing pollution, enhancing water quality, securing climate resiliency, and improving farmers bottom lines. Stand with us as we work to secure the necessary federal investments in the 2023 Farm Bill.

Adding your voice to our petition now will ensure you'll be the first invited to take action on the Farm Bill once it is introduced in Congress.
