Serena Williams Gets Drug Tested 5 Times More Than Any Other Tennis Player

"Tennis has given me so much. It's such an amazing sport." - Serena Williams

But the sport has also has brought her fair share of problems, including the constant sexist and racist attacks regarding her stature; the stuffy critique of her victory celebrations; and now, the woman considered to be one of the greatest sports stars to have ever lived has learned that she is also the target of a coordinated attack to prove that she is using performance-enhancing drugs.

Last month Deadspin reported that Serena had been tested for doping five times more than any other U.S. tennis player. More than any other male or female tennis player currently in competition.

The discrepancy raises eyebrows and provokes serious questions about why the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) believes Serena, more than any other tennis star, deserves such scrutiny.

Serena says she is happy to be tested since she believes in a clean sport but the testing should be done equally to everyone, not just her, otherwise its clear "discrimination."

If USADA strives to create a fair playing field for America's sports stars, then they should treat ALL of them fairly. It's time the agency stop treating Williams like a suspect and get back to doing what they have been charged with doing. Stopping drugs in sports.

Sign the petition and ask the USADA to apologize to Serena Williams, investigate the reason for the unusually high rate of her "random" drug tests, and let her continue to demolish her competition on the court — drug-free as always.
