Tell Your Legislators: Make Cancer Care Fair In North Carolina!

Too many North Carolina cancer patients can't get access to the treatment they need – without having to pay hundreds, even thousands of dollars out of pocket – simply because the treatment is a pill, rather than an intravenous or other type of chemotherapy.

Our state is one of only seven left in the country where health insurers can refuse to cover oral anti-cancer medication with a fixed, manageable copay. The NC Cancer Treatment Fairness Act (HB 206) would finally end this practice and allow cancer patients to effectively treat their condition.

Send a letter to your state elected officials urging them to support this critical legislation to make cancer care fair in North Carolina.
Dear [Elected Official]

As your constituent, I urge you to make cancer care fair for all North Carolinians by supporting House Bill 206, the NC Cancer Treatment Fairness Act. Cancer patients in our state deserve to have access to the care they need. However, health insurers are still free to deny coverage for a sizeable percentage of treatments that are taken orally. No cancer patient should be expected to pay hundreds, even thousands of dollars out of pocket to get the care they need, just because that treatment happens to be a pill.
