One of President Biden's first actions upon taking office was establishing a 100-day deportation moratorium, temporarily halting the anti-immigrant mechanism that Trump so gleefully built his presidency upon. And although a Texas judge temporarily blocked the executive order, the judge still stated that only the most serious deportation cases should be allowed to continue (like, convicted felons).
At which point Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) went completely rogue and deported at least 72 people, including a two-month-old baby and 21 other completely innocent children to Haiti, which is currently in political turmoil and incredibly dangerous.

ICE has no interest in stopping deportations. They have been empowered and emboldened by Trump, who granted ICE powers to use pandemic "health protections" as an excuse to continue sending migrants and asylum seekers into inhumane conditions. It is not in their best interests to be led by a president who wants to slow them down.
Which is why public outcry on this inexcusable act of inhumanity must be overwhelming.
