Support Caitlin's Dream Of Providing Computer Science Education for Rosebud Sioux Students

All over the United States, American Indian communities are working to improve education and preserve their wisdom and cultural knowledge for future generations. That's why Caitlin Bordeaux, a schoolteacher from the Rosebud Sioux tribe, dreams of providing computer science classes to her Native students.

Caitlin's project will create an after-school computer science program for her elementary, middle, and high school students in Saint Francis, South Dakota. She hopes it will open up new educational opportunities and help more Native young people join the tech workforce.

"Only 5% of schools nationwide offer a computer science course and out of, that only, 13% of those students are students of color. Computer science is an important 21st-century skill and Native youth deserve the opportunity to have this as part of their education."

As one of Running Strong's "Dreamstarters," Caitlin is in a group of ten remarkable young people with dreams of promoting education in their communities. Together, by supporting Caitlin and her computer science program, we can help her dreams come true and improve educational opportunities for her students.
