Promote Safer, Greener Businesses: Reform the TSCA!
Chemicals are so prevalent in our lives that it's easy to forget they're there: from
household cleaners to cosmetics, chemicals touch us each and every day. It's no wonder
that many companies have been pushing towards a safer, more environmental way to create
and test chemicals.
Unfortunately, the law intended to give the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the
ability to identify and regulate chemicals has become obsolete and ineffective.
Reforming the Toxic Substances Control Act would not only promote safety for our
environment and our families, it would reshape the chemical industry and its businesses. Here
are just a few of the benefits of TSCA reform:
* level the business playing field by requiring existing chemicals to meet the same criteria as
new ones.
