In 2022, losing a baby shouldn't be seen as just 'one of those things'. Help us fight for more research into the causes of pregnancy loss

We don't think losing a baby should be treated as a fact of life. The truth is that so much pregnancy loss could be prevented, but we need more research.

In the UK, 1 in 4 babies are lost during pregnancy or birth. Shockingly, most parents never find out why. Phrases such as "it just wasn't meant to be" or "it's just one of those things" are supposed to offer comfort - but they stop us finding out the real reasons why.

And answers do exist. Complications in pregnancy can and should be treated like any other medical condition, with properly funded research to find a cure. Better funded research would make pregnancy safer and healthier for everyone – and save lives. Together, we can make it happen.

We know that so much baby loss is preventable but to get there we need more research. Add your name if you agree.
