Tax the rich to save Medicaid

Congress and the Trump administration passed a bill that will gut our Medicaid program in order to pay for huge tax cuts that primarily benefit the wealthiest Americans and largest corporations. These cuts will devastate communities across Colorado, causing 180,000 people to lose their healthcare and putting enormous financial strain on hospitals and clinics, especially in rural Colorado.

Unlike in other states, Colorado lawmakers don't have any way of replacing lost federal funds because the 1992 TABOR amendment requires all taxes to be approved by the voters.

It's time to amend the Colorado Constitution to lift the prohibition on a graduated income tax and raise tax rates on taxpayers making more than $500,000 per year so that we can save our Medicaid program, protect our people, and sustain a healthcare system that we all rely on.

Join us in calling on leaders across Colorado to support putting a measure on the November 2026 ballot to make the wealthy pay their fair share to fund healthcare, education, childcare, and the other investments that create opportunities for the hardworking people of our state.
