Demand an end to Day Light Savings!!!!

Everyone I’ve talked to along the years I’ve been alive don’t have a lot of good things to say about Day Light Savings. It’s just been accepted for the most part. It started with Benjamin Franklin who invented Daylight Saving Time, and he did it for productivity reasons. Franklin noticed the sun coming up before he would wake up, and that was wasted time. With that, he figured having those daylight hours shifted to the evening would benefit everyone. So, as long ago as 1897, countries around the world began instituting daylight saving time, adding an hour of sunlight to the afternoon. This meant communities could be more productive — people could work longer, and when work was done it was still bright enough to run errands and stimulate the economy. The added daylight also meant more exposure to vitamin D and the added time for people to exercise outdoors. Well, that is ok, but when you have to go back to getting an extra hour of sleep and 1 less hour of evening light, that doesn’t work as well. Let’s just get used to getting up while our national time is set right now and not “fall back” again! There’s no need for this.
Day Light Savings throws everyone off who is subject to it. It’s caused many problems from babies sleep patterns getting out of whack and causing parents extra stress and hardship, besides less sleep. It’s caused heart attacks from the stress of it as well. A recent study shows there is a 25 percent increase in heart attacks due to the Spring forward Day Light Savings time change. Experts say that it can have more of an impact than we all think. In my experience as well. People are very exhausted from it, and the body’s circadian rhythm is in turmoil as if it were dealing with jetlag. This is simply not healthy for us and is just not necessary.
There are several benefits to keeping the time as it is now. Dr. David Prerau, author of " The Curious and Contentious Story of Daylight Saving Time," explained during a phone interview. "It's been found to reduce energy usage by doing something called load smoothing" — separating out electrical loads throughout the day to better deal with the valleys and peaks of energy usage — "and so you're going to generate energy more efficiently and therefore have less effects on pollution." A study by the U.S. Department of Transportation showed that the country's electricity usage is cut by 1 percent each day because of Spring time Day Light Savings.
