A Call for Physicians to Stop Prescribing Xarelto to Patients

The Goal. To convince physicians that they should stop prescribing Xarelto to patients.

The Problem. Xarelto is one of the well-known names when it comes to anticoagulants. This blood thinner is often prescribed by physicians to patients who have just gone through hip replacement or heart surgeries. It's also an FDA-approved medication for treating DVT, blood clotting and pulmonary embolism.

The problem with Xarelto is that there are many side effects linked with the use of this drug. Patients are likely to experience one or a combination of the following symptoms: spinal hematomas, brain hemorrhaging, heart attacks, strokes, and even death. And because there's no antidote for Xarelto, there's really nothing that even the best doctors could do once excessive bleeding has started.

The Solution. Physicians should be the brain behind every major decision, especially when it comes to the selection of medication that they prescribe to their patients. Since the main goal of any medicine is to remove, fight, or destroy an illness, it's counterproductive to provide patients with drugs that could do further harm and damage to their bodies.
