On August 31st, 2010, free swimming for children and over 60s will be discontinued in Taunton Deane. This has not been voted on by the council or discussed with the public - an executive decision has simply been made. If you feel that the council should at least discuss this issue please sign this petition. We need the signatures of 1,500 Taunton Deane residents to force a vote in council.

As a result of the free swimming program more people are gaining from this low impact exercise,
more children are gaining experience of the water and of positive
play, an affordable, healthy pastime is being provided for teenagers,
and the pool is taking in more money.
