Make the Abortion Pill Accessible for Women

Because of stringent FDA regulations, the abortion pill Mifeprex cannot be dispensed at retail pharmacies. Women seeking their constitutional right to a medical abortion must be given the drug at a clinic, medical office, or hospital by a clinician who has been certified by the drug manufacturer.

This is just another thinly-veiled attempt at restricting abortion access. Please sign this petition demanding that the FDA lift these regulations and make Mifeprex accessible for all women.

In areas with few or no abortion providers, these regulations impose a serious burden on women seeking Mifeprex. They may need to drive hundreds of miles to find a clinician authorized to dispense the medication. In Hawaii, some women may need to even fly to another island just to obtain the pill.

There’s no reasonable reason for this. Doctors should be able to write prescriptions that women can get filled at any local pharmacy.

Please sign this petition demanding that the FDA lift regulations that restrict where Mifeprex be distributed.
