The CMTO (College of Massage Therapists) has increased the registration fee, as they do every year, an extra $200. We will now have to pay $785.00 to be registered massage therapists in 2019. Their reasoning behind this increase is a joke! One being that in the last decade our registrant numbers have increased from 9000-14000 people. In reality shouldn't this mean lower fees!!!!? Another reason was in regards to protecting the public....obviously this is important, but as law abiding RMT's, why should we have to pay for the investigation of somebody else's sick mistake!!!? Pleeeeeeeeeeeease sign this petition if you do not agree with this price increase! For many the increase won't mean anything, it won't affect their lives. But for the rest of us, this is a huge blow financially. Especially new graduates coming out that have not even built a clientele yet. Not to mention the average person has student loans, car payments, mortgages, house bills, clinic rent, supplies, clinic bills, insurance, kids, a life! Who wants to or can afford to spend $785.00 on top of that just to be registered. This increase is just completely unfair! This is our voice without the cost of being an RMTAO member! Say NOOOOOOOO to registration fee increase!!!
