Tell Congress to Protect Global Funding That Saves Lives and Keeps Nevadans Safe

U.S. international assistance funds lifesaving food, clean water, health care, and more for millions of people. Recent cuts have left permanent and devastating consequences for families around the world, while putting American safety and security at risk.

A safer world strengthens Nevada's tourism and reflects the state's values of helping others.

Tell your members of Congress to protect international assistance and save lives.
As a CARE Action advocate living in the Silver State, I deeply support robust funding for U.S. international assistance. This critical support saves lives, promotes global stability, and strengthens America's security and economy, especially Nevadan tourism and trade. I urge you to protect this vital funding — both development and humanitarian — now.

Providing U.S. international assistance is not only the right thing to do but also the smart thing to do, and it more than pays for itself by reducing the need for costly emergency interventions, preventing future crises from escalating into conflicts, and creating new markets that support U.S. economic growth. For example, countries that the U.S. supported in the 1960s and 1970s, like South Korea and Chile, have since graduated from U.S. support and become some of our largest trading partners and defense allies.

Across the globe, U.S. international assistance helps communities recover and rebuild after crises, provides healthcare to mothers and children, and ensures families have access to food, clean water, and shelter. Without this support, millions of people will face devastating — and in some cases, deadly — consequences.

In an interconnected world, what happens abroad directly impacts America's health, economy, and national security. In Sudan, violence has caused a dramatic rise in hunger and disease, and as a result of U.S. government funding cuts for international humanitarian assistance, millions of people lost access to critical food aid and medical care.

I urge you to support U.S. international assistance — both development and humanitarian – for a safer and stronger Nevada. Failing to fund these programs would endanger lives and undermine U.S. leadership, economic strength, and long-term security.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your leadership in supporting U.S. international assistance and ensuring America continues to lead with humanity, innovation, and strategic foresight.
