Designate the NRA as a Domestic Terrorist Organization

Another day, another school shooting. This is America's new normal.

On Friday, May 18, 2018, ten people were killed and several more injured when 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis opened fire on his classmates at Santa Fe High School in Texas. Most of the victims were students.

In 2018, there were 103 school shootings, and more than 3,500 children killed or injured by guns. So why hasn't Congress done anything?

Please sign this petition demanding that the FBI designate the National Rifle Association (NRA) as a domestic terrorist organization now.

The NRA has pursued a radical agenda of facilitating and promoting the uninhibited distribution of firearms intended for mass slaughter of Americans. They have colluded with gun manufacturers and dealers to prevent any regulatory control over who can acquire a weapon. And they have implemented a sophisticated system of political bribery and extortion, resulting in inaction from Congress on gun control as thousands of Americans — including children — are killed.

According to Section 802 of the USA PATRIOT Act (Pub. L. No. 107-52), a person engages in domestic terrorism if they do an act "dangerous to human life" that is a violation of the criminal laws of a state or the United States, and if the act appears to be intended to: (i) intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping.

Through their positions and actions, the NRA fulfills all of the requirements for designation as a domestic terrorist organization.

Designating them as the terrorist organization that they are will bring appropriate public and governmental focus on their influence and activities. Stopping their ability to fund poitical campaigns will free representatives from the cold dead hands of these deadly arms merchants. It will end the disenfranchisement of all concerned Americans and chart a path back to safety and sanity in America.
