Foster children often lead unstable lives with changing living conditions. Foster kids often switch schools and have to make new friends. When foster kids age out of the system, they are often not prepared to earn their own living for self-reliance. Foster families may not feel a connection with older foster kids. Foster kids may need emotional and financial support periodically til age 40.
