CNN: Drop Parker/Spitzer and Hire Keith OlbermannOn Friday, January 21, 2011, Keith Olbermann announced his sudden and immediate departure from MSNBC.
Regardless of what prompted this turn of events, Keith Olbermann is a champion of truth and integrity from a progressive point of view and the country is much better off with him on the air, acting as a countervailing weight against the lies, spin, hate and vitriol on Fox "News."
As such, the members of this group respectfully request that the powers-that-be at CNN consider dropping Parker/Spitzer from its evening lineup and bringing Keith Olbermann into the CNN family. The ratings for Parker/Spitzer are abysmal and, frankly, the chemistry between the hosts is awkward at best. It will never be the kind of "must see" political news/opinion program that Keith Olbermann has perfected over the years.
Keith has a loyal following and is a highly respected progressive voice in an age of a bottomless pit of conservative talking heads spreading lies, spin and propaganda.
In light of the above, we respectfully request that CNN give strong consideration to dropping Parker/Spitzer in favor of a revamped, CNN version of Countdown With Keith Olbermann.
