INDIANA JONES TRILOGY Complete Scores; Help Us Make This Release a Reality!

We the undersigned wish to see the release of the Complete scores to the original Indiana Jones films become a reality.

The original INDIANA JONES trilogy consists of three of the most beloved films in all of movie history, considered by most to be timeless classics that will be treasured for many years to come.  Every single element that went into creating the films is entertaining, impeccable, and excellent; from the technically flawless direction of Steven Spielberg, to the iconic performances of star Harrison Ford.  Not to mention the epic, sweeping, action-packed, emotional, and rousing scores composed by legendary film composer, John Williams.  While these scores are available to the public, the available commercial CD releases are hardly what film score aficionados and devoted Indy fans would call "complete".

"Raiders of the Lost Ark", which was given a wonderfully received 1995 re-release which featured an abundance of previously unreleased music, is still not available in its complete form; 12 minutes of unreleased music still have not seen the light of day in a commercial release.  The score to "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", which is heralded by many as one of Williams' most thematically creative scores, features over 64 minutes of unreleased music.  Finally, the release of the score to 1989's "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", while more comprehensive than its predecessor, failed to include over 50 minutes of music from the complete score.

With the impending release of next year's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull", and a wealth of new Indy-related products set to hit the shelves between now and next May 22nd, Indiana Jones and John Williams fans everywhere are hopeful that the scores to the original three films in the saga will finally receive the Special Edition commercial releases that they so deserve.  After all, if Lucasfilm was able to issue Special Edition Complete releases of the scores to the original "Star Wars" Trilogy (which contained every single minute of music ever recorded for the 1977, 1980, and 1983 films) in 1997 to coincide with the circulation of the films in theaters, surely they can do the same for such an adored series as the Indiana Jones movies.  There are enough John Williams and Indiana Jones fans in existence to certify that this will be not only a commercially profitable release, but also one that will be adored by people around the world.

We wish to ensure the release of the Complete Special Edition scores to all three of the original Indiana Jones films; "Raiders of the Lost Ark", "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade".

We wish to thank the powers-that-be at Lucasfilm, Ltd. for taking the time to read this petition.  History has shown that those involved with marketing at Lucasfilm can be moved to action by fans of George Lucas' creations.  Hopefully, they will listen to all of us once again and our voices will help make certain that these beautiful scores by John Williams will ultimately obtain a long-overdue complete commercial release.
