This petition is for people who recognize that our national food security requires us to establish backyard edible gardens as an alternative to the industrialized food system, which depends on huge amount of petroleum to feed a hungry world.  We also recognize that there are very few natural seeds left, and that to preserve this precious resource for future generations requires the active involvement of people growing the seeds and stewardship of these unique varieties.
