Demand Better Parental Leave for Somerville Teachers

In our school system, teachers are not allowed to use their accrued sick time to extend their meager parental leave. Women like me, who gave birth in the summer months (during which we are not paid), get zero paid maternity leave. Paternity leave consists of 10 days. It isn't enough. We should be guaranteed our paid parental leave at any time of the year we choose to take it (within reason) and we should be able to use sick time to ensure that we are paid.
