Food is becoming unaffordable

The last 3 years I’ve been at this high school the prices have fluctuated by maybe a quarter on a drink if that. Now though the prices have went up significantly. For example veggies before were 2 per meal deal now it’s you get 1 and the other is an extra $1.25. The fruit from the cca is now $1.75, and a single salad at the cca anytime during the day if it is not apart of a meal deal is over 4 dollars. A lot of families and friends I know can’t afford the changes. For example my family with a single mom no longer qualifies for reduced lunch and haven’t for some time, so buying lunch especially at high school level has been a struggle most days, but my mom wants to make sure we’re full. Some students at this point pay for their own lunches which on top of car insurance, gas, a phone bill, animals, or any expenses they personally may have a raise in food prices can make a big difference now that summer is over and we have to make time for work and homework after school. Some families and students really can’t afford the prices changes and for them to be fed somewhere where they spend so many hours we need your help for this. Please help us make food prices go back to what they were.
