PETA has been working with the University of Georgia regarding the use of live animals, like live dogs as a way to train their students.  The civilians and military trainees at the school were asked to cut holes into the throats, limbs and chests of live dogs and other animals in medical training drills.

The school was approved for this practice through 2016 although they have currently stated they will reconsider such actions in favor of more effective humane methods.  The school has gotten much criticism through the media and numerous donors, alumni and other concerned citizens.  We want to ensure that no live animals will be used at the school for any type of experiments and educational purposes.

Georgia Representative Hank Johnson sponsors a bipartisan federal legislation that will end all live animal use in military training and other education facilities like that of UGA.  This petition is an effort to ensure that UGA indeed stops this practice and finds better, more humane methods of education.  You can help this effort by signing and sharing this petition.

UGA - Greg Albanese Associate Director for Facilities and Operations – PETA is pleased that you made the decision to end the use of live animals despite the fact that you have the go ahead with such practices through 2016.  We want to ensure that you will indeed stop the use of live animals like dogs for student studies immediately and permanently.  Ensure that you find better, more humane methods to educate your students rather than cutting open live dogs and other animals.
