To many people of color have been used as target practice for police officers. The lack of proper training, along with racial injustice has left to many families having to say goodbye to loved ones to soon. This must end now! We all have the ability to make a difference, and to stand up and demand change. What if it was YOUR sister, brother, mother, father, uncle, aunt, son, daughter? Would it make a difference in your eyes, make you capable of sympathizing, empathizing, with another's loss? I want to turn on the news and not see the "Murder" or "accidental shooting" of people of color by Police Officers everyday! We can force change! I want to push for the use of non-lethal force in routine police stops, and low risk calls. Imagine you call in for help, but when help arrives they shoot you cause you were of color. Imagine your child goes on a morning jog, and gets chased down and shot for being of color. Imagine you're complying with a police officer while they have you pinned down and shoot you, or sit on you til you lose oxygen to your brain. The time for change is now! If non-lethal force and proper training were implemented, so many lost lives could have been saved, but it's not too late going forward. Rubber bullets and beanbags are utilized during training courses, so why not use them during active duty. Guaranteed to stop a full grown man/woman in his/her tracks, without ending their life. We as Americans always come together to rally when we feel something is wrong, and I'm asking you all now to please come together on this matter. Together we can make a change and rebuild America into something we are all proud to call home!
