Demand Curbside Recycling in all the surrounding areas of Tri-Cities, WA

As a Tri-Cities, WA resident, I am concerned about the increased environmental impact on the Tri-Cities, WA area.

The EPA estimates that 75% of the American waste stream is recyclable, however, only 30% is actually recycled. In a study completed by Environment and Behavior, the results clearly indicated that access to curbside recycling significantly affected the amount and variety of materials recycled.

Additionally, studies have shown that curbside pickup, in areas with populations greater than 100,000 increase the participation rate of recycling by more than 50%. There are currently more than 250,000 individuals in the Tri-Cities, WA area. Therefore, Basin Disposal Inc. should implement a curbside recycling program to all Tri-Cities, WA area residents.
