Demand Immediate Reinstatement of Previous Snack Bar

East Mountain High School is a small charter school that does not have a sanctioned lunch program. Initially, students were able to purchase food from a snack bar that was managed by a parent of an East Mountain High School student that currently attends the school. The parent independently provided a broad variety of healthy and filling food options that left students satisfied. During lunch, the snack bar was previously run by two responsible, East Mountain students that took pride in their work and enjoyed having the opportunity to serve their peers. After running the snack bar for an efficient, successful two years, the principal of East Mountain High School and the director of an organization at the school decided to "run it in house." The two administrators claimed to offer a better option than the previous years, stating that they would attempt to financially support the various clubs at East Mountain with the money that was profited from the snack bar. Not only has there been a lack of evidence that supports these profits are going towards these various clubs, but the food that is now being provided through the administration lacks nutritional benefits. The student-parent who primarily managed the snack bar hoped to improve the snack bar quality for the year of 2016-2017 by introducing a larger variety of organic food that would dramatically and positively improve our students eating habits. The amount of food from previous years has immensely decreased in supply compared to this year; the amount of items has significantly dropped and the menu is now unacceptably vague and unsatisfying. By signing, you are allowing the student-parent to return as the snack bar manager, and you benefitting the students of East Mountain High School that greatly depend on the snack bar for providing good food options that properly fuel their bodies and minds.
