Stop Senate Bill 16 (SB16)
We urge you to sign this petition in support of stopping SB16 and support funding following the child not the district.
Senate Bill 16 (SB16) does not address the true problem of education funding equality rather it diverts money from suburban districts and reallocates to other district.
A real solution to education funding inequality is letting the general state aid funding follow the child, not funding the district.
Dear Illinois State Representative,
I am writing you today to urge you to VOTE NO on Senate Bill 16 (SB16). This bill, in its current form is an education funding scheme that does not address the true problem of education funding in Illinois.
I would also ask that you add your name to House Resolution 1276 (HR1276), a resolution urging the Illinois House to stop considering SB16 and the bad funding formula.
Education funding in Illinois needs to be clear and transparent. Fundamentally, any and all state aid/funding for a child's education needs to follow the child regardless of district.
